About BAOG
Bulgarian Association of Oncogynaecology
The BULGARIAN ASSOCIATION OF ONCOGYNAECOLOGY is a voluntary, independent non-profit organisation, established for private benefit under the Bulgarian Non-Profit Legal Entities Act. Its members are physicians working in the field of oncogynaecology — obstetricians and gynaecologists, surgeons, urologists, radiotherapists, chemotherapists and others.
The mission of BAOG is to introduce, implement and disseminate the latest advances in oncogynaecology, and to raise the professional level, training and specialisation of its members.

3. Promoting the principles of prevention and treatment of cancer among the general public.
4. Supporting professional development, raising qualifications and defending the interests of physicians and other specialists working in oncology and reproductive health.
Membership fee
The annual membership fee is 51.13 euro.

1. Organises congresses, conferences, workshops and other events devoted to cancer and related diseases, as well as to reproductive health. These forums address
a) established methods of prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation;
b) new strategies and protocols for prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, intended for nationwide implementation;
c) results of research in oncology, oncogynaecology, the biology and epidemiology of malignant diseases and other fundamental questions.
2. Develops and takes part in programmes and projects that raise the quality of medical care in oncogynaecology and reproductive health.
3. Develops new diagnostic and treatment algorithms for specific conditions.
4. Provides expert and consultative assistance.
BAOG is governed by a management board elected by the general assembly of the association
He graduated in medicine from the Medical University of Sofia in 1994. Since 2018 he has been Head of the Department of Operative Gynaecology and Pelvic Surgery at VITA Hospital.
He holds specialities in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and in General Surgery. Assoc. Prof. Karagyozov is a board member of the Bulgarian Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (BSOG), the Bulgarian Medical Association (BMA), the Bulgarian Association of Minimally Invasive Gynaecology (BAMIG), the Bulgarian Surgical Society (BSS) and ESGO (European Society of Gynaecological Oncology).
In May 2020 BAOG and ESGO (European Society of Gynaecological Oncology) signed a memorandum under which every BAOG member who has paid the annual membership fee receives access to the ESGO eAcademy.

The Bulgarian Association of Oncogynaecology was founded in 2002.

Statutes
The association was established at a founding assembly held on 14 December 2002 in Sofia.
The current statutes were adopted by the general assembly of 29 September 2013 and amend the statutes adopted at the founding assembly of 14 December 2002.
